If you were to have told me all the wonderful things about pregnancy before I got pregnant, I would have believed you. I truly knew nothing about it! But it seems once you have gone through something, you become the EXPERT! lol...
So let me recap somethings I have been experiencing these last five months of being pregnant. Now the first two months, I really wasn't sure I was prego because I didn't have many symptoms but just being really hungry.
The third month came with a punch! I was nauseated, gaining weight! I grew out of most of my jeans and had to wear a maternity cover over my jeans. I hadn't colored my hair because they say it's not good to do that your first trimester. We found out we were having twins but we were not sure of the sexes yet. I thought they were a boy and girl but we had no idea. I receive tons of maternity clothes and advice (By the way most of the maternity clothes were way to big at that point). Our family went on a ski trip but I stayed in the cabin because just walking down to the ski lodge wore me out! Scott and I started going on walks in the mall for exercise.
Fourth month I am over the nauseated sate and now have tremendous pelvic pain and all of my joints start spreading. Like I am Gumby. My feet start getting wide and now my boobs have exploded into their own factory of " MILK SUPPLY". I grew two sizes and have had to by two new bras. I go to the chiropractor twice a week and get adjusted because my back was hurting all the time. I bought a belly belt to help with the pain. Totally a must if you are having twins. I was going to the bathroom 3 to 4 times a night. Not getting much sleep, I decided to try sleeping in the recliner. Yes!! This was a must! I started working a part time job at an embroidery store for sports gear. Great job for me in the mornings. Now, my feet and hands have been swelling in the evenings. Scott and I are still walking me through the malls and stores to get exercise and it helps my swelling, plus I drink a ton of water!!!!!. Scott also has a bath for me in the evenings when I return from working a softball camp. (Don't worry it's only a warm bath.)
My fifth month started out with a great visit to the OB Dr. and sono gal and she said the babies were measuring the same and their heart rates were excellent. We found out they are for sure a boy and a girl. We were shown their hearts, brains, bones and stomachs. We are overjoyed to have this be our little blessings from God. We have prepared the nursery and things seem to being going well. I am finally feeling them inside me and right now it just feels like flutters. Scott has yet to feel anything, poor guy! Scott has developed symptoms of pregnancy as well. We eat ice cream together and he talks about all his symptoms all the time. I guess it makes him feel apart of this whole process and it makes me laugh.
Even though it has been a crazy ride. I am looking forward to the rest of this amazing time with my babies. I can't tell you how much I already love them. I feel so blessed to be carrying two little children in my belly. It's amazing how the body works. What fears you have to overcome and the amount of work your body puts out to allow these beautiful children to develop. I have gained quite a bit of weight but everyone has been amazing to me with compliments. Even though my feet hurt from the weight and I can't run anymore, I know this is for a short time. I have read so many books on babies and pregnancy, I know I could have a degree in it by now. As I type numbness in my fingers comes and goes and I know this must be what I read about last night. Pregnancy makes you feel like you are the giver of life but also something beyond yourself. It has to be God. He made an amazing thing when we created woman. How she is a supplier of life and giver of peace. I pray I can be a good mother and enjoy my children now and forever! What an amazing blessing!
